• The Surprise Strategy: Starting from a lowly 14th and 15th on the grid after prioritizing race setup over single-lap qualifying pace, Toyota shocked the paddock by pitting both cars extremely early on laps 8 and 9. This offset pit strategy allowed both cars to utilize clean air and vault into the overall race lead by the end of the first hour.
