Snetterton Rally Stages
7th Feb 2026
Shooting for Jowers Racing at the Snetterton Stage Rally on 7 February 2026 was a test of both gear and patience. The day was defined by a dramatic shift from deceptive winter sunshine to "miserable" cold rain and wind, providing a cinematic but challenging backdrop for the team's Ford Escort MK2.
Photographer’s Field Review
From a technical standpoint, Snetterton remains one of the best circuit-based rallies for photography due to its minimal safety fencing and elevated viewing banks.
The Morning Strategy: I started at the Brundle/Nelson complex. In the early "greasy" morning conditions, a 70-200mm was perfect for capturing the cars as they ran almost under my feet. Dropping the shutter speed to around 1/80th allowed for some dynamic panning as the cars navigated the technical sections.
Capturing Jowers Racing: Focusing on the #11 Ford Escort MK2, I prioritised head-on shots at the Bombhole to get on a level with the car. The afternoon rain required a quick switch to waterproof covers, but the spray coming off the back of the Escort through Coram added a gritty, high-stakes feel to the client's gallery.
The Paddock Vibe: Between stages, the Service Area was a goldmine for "behind-the-scenes" shots. Capturing the mechanics making rapid tyre changes as the wind dried sections of the track provided Jowers Racing with great storytelling content.
